A & G Outdoor Song Performance at PEI National Park

Anne & Gilbert, The Musical, will be brought to life at Green Gables Heritage Place, part of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Cavendish National Historic Site. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 3rd at 1pm.

Green Gables was the inspiration for the setting of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic tale of fiction, Anne of Green Gables. The Anne novels in turn inspired the internationally acclaimed and much loved, Anne & Gilbert.

Parks Canada and PEI’s Harbourfront Theatre are collaborating to offer visitors this special performance featuring the plays’ signature number, Island Through and Through, performed by the entire 27 member cast and orchestra of Anne & Gilbert outdoors at the Green Gables Heritage Place.
This performance will include all the production qualities of the famed Harbourfront Theatre stage production; a live orchestra, soaring vocals, fine acting and the beautiful choreography of this East Coast Music Award winning musical.

While the actual performance of Island Through and Through will begin at 1pm, fans are encouraged to arrive early to watch the musicians and technical crew set up for the performance. Following the performance, audience members will be invited to mingle with the actors, obtain autographs, and learn more about the show.

In the Visitor Centre, a multimedia presentation introduces Montgomery and her loveable character, Anne. Engaging exhibits highlight the life and works of L.M. Montgomery. In Green Gables House, you can view period rooms with furnishings authentic to the
late 1800s period depicted in the show. Visitors are also encouraged to wander the beautiful grounds, gardens and trails that inspired the author over 100 years ago, including Lover’s Lane and the Haunted Wood.
